Three people have been killed and at least nine others got hurt in Ukraine's latest attack on the Russian border region of Belgorod, according to its governor.

The loss of life took place subsequent to an assault on the village of Maslova Pristan early on Wednesday, authorities reported. First responders were carrying on seeking for people potentially caught under debris.

It is the third consecutive day that Ukraine has struck the region, resulting in many individuals experiencing blackouts and no fewer than two additional individuals killed.

Wave of Assaults Cause Damage

Wednesday's series of aerial assaults damaged homes, vehicles and energy systems in various areas of Belgorod, per information from authority reports.

Sources published images from the village showing a sports centre with its roof and walls blown apart, and mentioned that rescue workers were cleaning up rubble and examining the harm.

Within the adjacent community of Moshchenoye, six individuals - comprising a minor - got hurt when a rocket and drone hit a vehicle, while an individual sustained injuries when a vehicle was targeted in Masychevo.

Energy Disruptions Affect Thousands

These attacks come after multiple days of identical assaults that have caused blackouts and structural damage in the city of Belgorod and nearby regions.

Approximately forty thousand people were influenced by energy disruptions across multiple districts, according to government sources.

Wider Situation of Warfare

Ukraine has dramatically increased the number of attacks launched against Russia's fuel processing facilities in recent months, sparking fuel shortages and expense hikes in various areas of Russia.

No fewer than twenty-one of the nation's key petroleum plants - at locations transforming oil into usable fuel like gasoline and diesel fuel - have been attacked in recent months, significantly more than as during the whole of 2024.

Persistent Warfare

Simultaneously, hostile actions by Russia toward Ukraine are ongoing. The country's military aviation stated during midweek its defences shot down or disabled 154 drones, but two dozen hit objectives in 11 locations.

Power Systems At Risk

The country's president says Moscow is again targeting the country's power systems before the cold season and has revealed extra monetary resources to repair damaged facilities and develop a backup supply of components to reestablish energy.

"In spite of various obstacles, we must support the areas presently experiencing the most difficult period," he said.
